A native Texan, Jose graduated from Texas Tech University with dual degrees in psychology and political science, providing him with valuable insight into human behavior and the legal system. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2009 and immediately began building a diverse foundation of legal experience.
Jose’s early career included positions with the Dallas City Attorney’s Office, the Dallas District Attorney’s Office, and the Dallas County Public Defender’s Office. This comprehensive exposure to prosecution, defense, and municipal law gave him an insider’s understanding of how the criminal justice system operates from every angle – knowledge he now uses to his clients’ advantage.
In 2010, Jose opened his private practice in Plano. After joining Guest & Gray as a senior associate in 2018, he has now become a member partner at Tidwell Law Firm, where he continues his mission of providing aggressive, effective defense representation to those accused of crimes while also handling family law matters.
